13th Annual Cars for Kids Automobile Show
Just down the road in Litchfield, CJR hosts its 13th Annual Cars for Kids Automobile Show on October 11, supported by the Litchfield Hills Historical Automobile Club. Gates open for show cars at 8 AM, with spectator parking beginning at 10 AM. Judging runs from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by an awards ceremony at 2:30 PM with more than twenty trophies presented.
Beyond the cars, the day offers something for the whole family: farm tours, hay rides, and a roadside Farm Market stocked with eggs, chrysanthemums, and student grown produce including pumpkins, gourds, and squash. Visitors can also browse work from CJR's culinary arts, welding, woodshop, fine arts, and automotive technology programs, and enjoy breakfast sandwiches, burgers, barbecued chicken, and a bake sale from the Litchfield Aid of CJR.
Admission is $5 per adult, with a $10 maximum per car. Proceeds benefit CJR's care, treatment, and education services for children, youth, and families across the state.
