Open Every Day Starting May 1

April 25, 2025

OPEN DAILY BEGINNING MAY 1

Beginning May 1, Belden House & Mews is open every day of the week! We hope you'll be one of our early guests and book a stay with us this Spring. Litchfield is growing green and there are many exciting happenings to take part in nearby.

Let us host you and show you our vibrant environs.

SEAFOOD-FORWARD, NEW ENGLAND-SOURCED

Chef Tyler Heckman, a Connecticut native, brings his seafood-forward aplomb to Belden. Tyler's food is thoughtful but simple, never overwrought. Think: Maine lobster with English peas and young ginger; kombu-cured big eye tuna with rhubarb, sumac and bay leaf; verdant salad and excellent Creature Bread.

Before Belden, Tyler led kitchens at lauded New York City establishments including El Quijote and Cafe Chelsea in the newly re-launched Hotel Chelsea, and before that cut his teeth at Toro, Le Turtle and Villanelle. We feel so lucky to have his streamlined, graceful dishes at Belden.

We're opening for dining every day as of May, by reservation only, so please book a table to experience Tyler's dishes for yourself.

"The truth is the kindest thing we can give folks in the end."

Harriet Beecher Stowe, Litchfield native and author of Uncle Tom's Cabin

CULTURE CALENDAR

We are delighted to announce the launch of Belden's Culture Calendar! Here you'll find a curated selection of wonderful things to do when you come to stay with us, such as Thursdays at South Farms Socials, Memorial Day (and other exciting upcoming events this season) at Lime Rock Racetrack, a conversation between media publishing legend Graydon Carter and lauded local author of Three Women, Lisa Taddeo, and more.

If you know of a fabulous event that is not yet on our radar, by all means

BELDEN IN CABANA

Thank you to Litchfield local and friend Jane Keltner de Valle for including us in her favorite Connecticut haunts in interiors bible Cabana Magazine. We are in such good company with many antique dealers, ice cream makers, and dreamy landscapes we love. Read Jane's love letter to Litchfield County.

BATHHOUSE

COMING SOON TO GUESTS: Bathhouse, Belden's private wellness facility, is located within the Mews, will offer movement and fitness, treatment rooms, steam, sauna, cold plunge and a soaking tub for hydrotherapies, with a seasonal heated 50-foot pool and lawn games. Wildsmith, the renowned English skincare line focused on nature and wellbeing through mind-body-earth connection, is used throughout and by our skilled practitioners.

MADE IN LITCHFIELD

Today's spotlight is on Litchfield's own Charlie Dumais of Dumais Made. When you come to stay with us, you'll notice the textured, robust lamps and light fixtures that give luster to many of our spaces. You'll find you want to run your hands across their sometimes grooved, sometimes stamped, punctured or so smooth surfaces because you won't quite believe that they are made of clay. Dumais Made is yet another reason we, too, are so lucky to be Made In Litchfield.
